PERSONALITY
Q is a hodgepodge of a person. Raised in two different oppressive environments with her only touchstone to the outside world being ghosts and the Fae, Q has never managed to socialize herself with regular people. She is very polite, for no other reason than it's generally the best method for surviving an encounter with the Fair Folk. Her years in the school for maidens have added some refinement to them, but they're antiquated and geared towards flattering and submitting to those above her station. Among her peers, she's friendly, if given to distraction.
Because of her empathic powers, she picks up on the emotions of others with relative ease, but this gets tricky when she's in a crowded area. Humans, living and dead, emote a lot and being raised specifically to read these emotions so the Masters could better manipulate them, Q was never taught how to filter between individual humans. Likewise, she has a hard time grasping social differences in individual humans. With the Fair Folk and in the school of the maidens, it was easy to tell when she was interacting with a peer or someone above her. The broader world is much less easy to define. Q falls back on diffidence since it's reliable at the very least. She considers herself to be at the very bottom of the food chain and tries to avoid altercations. Her go to strategy is bolting, which has made adapting to life in the wider world... interesting.
Chronic insomnia and the constant feedback loop that is the nature of her powers means that Q is a very scattered and distracted sort of person. She's in a near constant state of exhaustion, never quite managing to be fully rested, but given to light dozing at any opportunity, on any surface that holds still long enough. It take her a moment to work out who or what she's looking at when she's interacting with someone for the first time because even though she can see through glamours and illusions, she doesn't have the advantage of knowing what specifically she's looking at. At best, she comes off as ditzy.

HISTORY (in brief)
Q was born Annabella Shirke and deposited directly into the most cloistered and out of the way church one could find without dropping off the face of the earth. Her purpose was clear cut: to remain pure and untainted by worldly influences until such time as the vampiric Masters came to collect her. Sadly, this plan went terribly awry when Q's powers manifested at 3. The church's already active cemetery became even more so as fae began to filter in among the spirits, intrigued by the responsive toddler. Some time passed, Q's motor skills refined and it wasn't long before she was being coaxed towards all manner of wooded hollows that were too green for the time of year and suspicious gaps in fallen trees. Q was soon banned from leaving the church grounds and indeed even stepping outside unattended.
The Fair Folk were not easily thwarted or ignored. Rather, they were even more enticed by the challenge and by the time she was 12, Q was intimately familiar with the eccentricities of the Fae and balancing appeasing them with pleasing her caretakers. Being sent to school was almost a relief, being given the single purpose of "learning to become a bride." The school had no official name, merely referred to in many poetic turns of phrase. To Q, it was the school of maidens and she went to it happily. She'd never been around other children her age before or nearly as many people in a single place. School was easy in many respects. She'd been raised to excel at her work and she did. But here was where Q first began to run into the problems of what she was being trained for.
Unlike the church, the school was full of people. And she could feel all of them. And every little whisper and shadow that clung to the schools foundation. The fair folk were absent and in their place, ghosts seemed to linger all the more. Here too, Q attracted attention, but not from creatures as fully formed as the fae. Ghosts that were more shadow and whisper, faint noise and light that was wrong, the strong impression of an emotion, but little form to attach it to. There isn't really a good method to placate an errant thought given some small weight in the world. At least none that weren't counter intuitive to her training. She was meant to connect, meant to soothe. But there was nothing there, either to connect to or soothe.
It settled strangely in Q
APPEARANCE
Q is a pretty girl who looks an absolute wreck the vast majority of the time. Her hair is short and hastily cut, though the curls hide most of the hackjob. Her eyes are almost always bloodshot, with some dark circles. Her clothes are always mismatched and she couldn't tell you where most of them came from, but she does like baggy clothes and knit fabrics. Cozy, comfy things she can layer. She has trouble speaking if she goes without sleep for too long and will revert to miming. She knows just enough sign language to be completely incomprehensible.
ABILITIES
I see dead people...: Actually, she sees everything around her, or senses it. Ghosts, spirits, fae, magic, anthropomorphized aspects. The world and alternate worlds and the bits between are very big and very loud and Q's had to learn at a young age how to filter through all of it. Her senses can not be tricked or bewitched by magic or supernatural force. The downside is that the Others are always very. Very. Very aware that they are being Seen. And there are many Others who don't like to be seen.
The Useful Bit: Q is an empath of sorts and while she can't manipulate the emotions of others, she can heal both physical and mental injuries. She can also take memories, but that takes even more time and focus. There is, naturally, a catch. She feels everything alongside the person she's healing and the memories she takes she experiences in real time and keeps fresh in her mind. So... useful. But not a cure all.
+10 Charisma: Less of an innate ability and more of a learned one that is none the less vital for anyone who interacts with fae for any period of time. That said, she's better at dealing with ghosts and ghouls than actual human beings. Immortals are easy to flatter if your life is on the line, humans are a bit trickier.
No Rest: This isn't an ability so much as a side effect of the rest. Q is a rampant insomniac and typically goes days without getting more than an hour or so of sleep at any given time. Some of it is noisy local spirits, some of it is the inevitable reality of being on the run from incredibly rich and powerful immortal beings.
